termSpace supports the standard refset types described in the SNOMED CT International release documentation and related specifications. However, there are situations that require the distribution of additional content using the extensibility mechanism by adding new reference set types.
The process required to describe a new reference set type include:
- The creation of a new extension concept that represents the reference set type or structure
- The addition of one or more extension concepts that would represent the additional attributes contained in the refset structure. These attributes will be used to publish the Refset Descriptor Reference set members that will inform users about the structure of the set.
- The configuration of the new reference set pattern in the Administration panel, associating each additional attribute (existing, or created in the previous step) with the corresponding datatype it will contain.
- After completing the configuration, the new refset pattern will be available as a custom refset type when creating new refsets in the Asset library.
