This tab shows the concept with its concept ID, definition status, descriptions with their acceptabilities in the selected language refset and relationships and is the tab where concept edition takes place, mainly with two buttons: Edit concept and Clone concept.
Edit concept
Opening this button will show all the available editing options for existing concepts: selecting any of the listed links will enable creating a new Fully Specified Name (FSN), synonym(s), text definitions or relationships (both IS_As and attribute relationships). Also, a concept may be inactivated from here. Each of these functionalities is described in How-to section, Creating a new concept, Adapting concepts of the International Edition to local use.
Clone concept
Sometimes, when complex concepts with extensive definitions are to be modeled, it is easier to clone an existing concept and then introduce changes to differentiate both, uding the cloned concept as a template for further refinement. For example, we have 36213007 |Endoscopy and brush biopsy (procedure)| with the following definition:
If a child of this concept is needed, like 'Endoscopy and brush biopsy of gastrointestinal tract' it will be much efficient to clone the parent and refine it for the child than creating the new concept from scratch.
