Open the Asset Library and click + symbol to open a modal window where the new refset specifications will be entered:

On the publication specification, select Not published

Click Create to list refset name in the Assets panel
Select the new simple map refset and click Open Asset
- Select the refset you have just created and press the blue Open Asset button on the right to open the task screen, where the members are assigned:
This screen shows the Refset Editor on the left and the Development queries by default. However, you can search the concept to be coded in the Search tab on the left and open it in Concept details tab on the right, as usual:
Back to the Refset editor on the left, drag the concept to the refset editor window. Additional refset members may be added by dragging a concept from the concept summary panel to the Refset Editor
- Then, assign the code number that you need and press the checkmark icon:
- Back to the Asset Library, now you should synchronize your content. You will see that by default, TO BE PUBLISHED AS CONCEPT window appears as not published, but you must select in which refset will your concept be published:
The dropdown menu will display all the existing refsets. Select one of them and press the blue button Compare with published members to synchronize.
- A modal window will be opened, which gives you the option of synchronize with the asset you have just created as the master or with the already published refset. In case of selecting the first option the following warning will appear:

Now go to the Concept Editor and search for the concept you wanted to link with LOINC. In the refset tab you will see that it is linked to LOINC code as a Simple Map Refset.
Simple Map Refsets can be edited through the Asset Library module in termSpace.

Populating an Asset
In order to add a mappings, an Asset must be first populated with members. Check our article on Adding Members to an Asset.
Mapping Asset members to simple codes
Once you added members to the Asset, those member can be mapped to a simple code provided by the user.
Select your Simple Map asset and click on the “Open Asset” button.
The Refset Panel on the left will let you set a mapping target on each Asset member. Just click on the “Change this” section to input the desired target value.
Mapping Asset members to other terminologies
termSpace allows you to upload another terminology as a Code System. Before starting to map, you will need to upload the terminology through the Admin panel - Code Systems section.
Once the Code System is successfully loaded, you will be able to link it to the asset using the Linked Code System dropdown in the Preview Panel.
Now click on the “Open Asset button”.
The Refset Panel on the left will let you set a mapping target on each Asset member. Just click on the “Change this” section and you will be able to select a code from the target Terminology.
