New concepts may be created in the Concept Editor or in the Inbox. Once the Inbox is opened, the list of assignments and QA results are displayed on the left, as well as a button for creating new concepts. The Concept Editor will open the concept authoring panels, with ‘Concept details’ and ‘New concept’ tabs on the right. Both the ‘Create a new concept’ button and the ‘New concept’ tab will open the panel where new concepts are created.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Type a fully specified name with its semantic tag (otherwise, the semantic tag will be automatically created when the parent concept is added)
  2. Locate parents in Search or Taxonomy tabs.
  3. Drag and drop a parent concept from Taxonomy or from Search results (more than one parent may be dragged)

A FSN-like synonym without the semantic tag will be automatically created, with ‘Preferred’ acceptability. IS_A relationships are generated in this way and the new concepts are placed under their parent concepts.

  4. Add one or more synonyms by clicking on the 'plus' icon on the right
  5. Press Create concept
  6. The result is shown in the taxonomy with the flag of the extension that is creating the new concept (green rectangle in the example).
