This article assumes you have already created your new Refset. Click here for more info on Refset Creation.

Summary

Simple Type Refsets can be populated in two different ways:

  • Extensional Refsets: By manually adding and removing members.

  • Intensional Refsets: By linking the Refset with an existent Query based on ECL.

Working with Extensional Refsets

To edit Refset members, you should first select the desired Refset from the list, and click on the “Open Asset” button.

Adding members

Drag&Drop

Extensional Refsets can be populated by dragging concepts retreived by the Search Module as well as the Taxonomy, and dropping them in the Refset Editor module on the left.

Tip: You can drop a concept into the Taxonomy to browse into it’s hierarchy:

Bulk adding

From Excel

Members can be addded by uploading a compatible Excel file.

From briefcase

You can also add members by importing previously added concept from the Briefcase.
The Compare with briefcase button displays a list of the concepts from the briefcase that are not yet members of the refset.

Removing members

You can remove a member by clicking on the cross icon next to each concept.

Working with Intensional refsets.

Intensional refsets members are defined by a previously saved query. Click here for more info on Creating Queries.

For linking the Refset to a saved query, you will need to select it from the “Linked with query” dropdown, and click on the “Sync” button after that.

Refset Synchronization

Warning: At this point members where added to the refset, but you will need to synchronize them for the changes to be published in the next Terminology Release. Click here for more info on Refset Synchronization.
