Assigning tasks to users from an external formatted file for translation review activities

The Task Manager module supports the creation of work lists containing a set of concepts that need to be assigned for editing or reviewing concept modeling, translations, etc. The list of concepts can be imported from the briefcase, from a Jira issue, selected with a query, selected as members of a given refset or uploaded from an external file. The main use case for uploading concepts from an external file is to import a translation or a set of new concepts pre-modeled outside termSpace. This article documents the creation of worklists created from an external translation file.

1. External file requirements

  • .csv or .xls file type
  • Column Headings (order of columns matters): Concept ID, Concept FSN, Case sensitive, Preferred Synonym, Case sensitive, Acceptable Synonym, Case sensitive
  • Each description, either FSN, preferred or acceptable synonym, is followed by it´s "Case sensitive column" at the right
  • One and only one "Concept FSN", one and only one "Preferred Synonym", zero up to five acceptable synonyms.
  • Case sensitive fields must contain a Snomed CT concept ID, description fields must contain String.
  • One concept per line

If FSN needs to be generated from the preferred term, the field can contain the instruction @@sameAsPreferred as applicable. If a link to the source FSN is preferable to create a new one in the target language, the instruction @@linkFromSource should be included in the FSN field. Any other term would result in the creation of a FSN based on that term.

2. In Task Manager, click on , and create assignments screen will open.

3. In Assign from field select "File" and upload the file. In type field select "Translation". In activity to perform field select "Translate content".

4. Complete other worklist configuration fields as needed.
